The Lead Audio/Visual and FX Technician is responsible for leading a team of on-site technicians, managing event assets, ensuring quality standards are upheld, providing training and guidance to the technical staff, and maintaining the technical systems and processes throughout the event.
Position Overview:
- Provide technical installation and guidance for both basic and advanced AV equipment, alongside managing Memoir operations staff.
- Demonstrate advanced expertise in technical processes, hardware, and software.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all on-site equipment, including audio, lighting, power, fog machines, snow machines, flame effects, lasers, fire pits, and more.
- Lead the on-site technical team during show setup, throughout the event, and during nightly shutdowns.
- Maintain and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, and special effects equipment throughout the event’s duration.
- Support the training and development of on-site technicians, ensuring consistent skill improvement.
- Ensure the safety and security of equipment and guests throughout the event.
- Perform continuous quality control checks to uphold performance standards and work with management on disposal and/or retirement of assets. .
- Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance, and any additional technical requirements.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to meet Memoir's high-quality standards.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as an Audio Visual Technician and leading teams.
- A deep understanding of audio, video, control, and networking systems.
- Must have an in depth understanding of artnet and DMX protocols in relation to stage lighting installations.
- Ideally will have experience working with at least one of the following
- Touch Designer
- Ableton Live
- Madmapper
- Must be able to read and understand technical plans/signal flow charts to ensure everything is done correctly and then do any additional configuration that is required.
- Must be responsive, efficient, have excellent customer interaction, and exhibit a high level of professionalism.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, under immense pressure. The pace requires independent and confident thinking, self-motivation and determination.
- Good organization and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and staff.
- Proven team player with the ability to lead project teams effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to to complete physically demanding tasks, such as standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold temperatures)

- Reliable forms of communication & transportation
- Staff provide their own attire. Black shirt, and black pants are required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have critical thinking and problem solving ability
- Be flexible and adaptable to change and hours of work, to meet the needs of the customer
Dates: This is a temporary full-time position. Dates listed below are working dates. 5 days a week required including weekends.
- October: 10/27/25-10/31/25
- November: 11/17/25-11/30/25
- December: 12/1/25-12/31/25
- January: 1/1/26-1/3/26
Pay Details: Day rate $300 for run of show. Training will be based on hourly rates.
Payments will be made weekly.
