General Job Summary:

The Food and Beverage Supervisor monitors, manages, and operates the concession tent’s activities, ensuring efficient service and quality control throughout the run of the show. This role involves supervising staff, bartending, food production, managing inventory, and responding to on-site operational needs. The role requires a hands-on leader capable of working non-traditional hours and supporting both the physical build and final breakdown of event infrastructure.

Pre-Show Setup Summary (Build):

The Concession Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the physical setup of their assigned concession tent(s) prior to the show’s launch. This includes supervising the delivery and placement of equipment, organizing inventory and supplies, installing signage and décor, and preparing the tent for full service readiness. The supervisor works with F&B Operations to ensure the build aligns with event standards and may also assist in staging items at the warehouse or event site.

Show Summary:

The Concession Supervisor manages all food, beverage, and operational aspects of the assigned concession tent during show hours. Responsibilities include staffing, preparing service, serving alcohol, managing inventory, and cleaning up. The supervisor ensures that all local health, safety, and alcohol compliance standards are met, trains staff to deliver service excellence, and maintains a focus on guest satisfaction in a high-volume, fast-paced setting. The role demands flexibility to work awkward or late-night hours, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to adapt quickly to operational demands.

Post-Show Breakdown Summary:

Following the show, the Concession Supervisor leads the teardown and dismantling of their concession tent(s). This includes packing, labeling, and returning equipment, securing inventory, and ensuring the concession space is restored to its original condition. Supervisors may also assist with returning items to the warehouse, inventorying equipment, and preparing an R&M (repairs & maintenance) checklist to flag items needing service before the next event.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, volunteers, and guests.
  • A customer service-driven mindset focused on delivering a positive guest experience.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented event environment.
  • Proficient in POS systems and basic math for transaction handling and sales reporting.
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Physically capable of lifting, loading, and maneuvering concession equipment during setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to complete physically demanding tasks, such as standing and/or walking for long periods.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold temperatures).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in food and beverage supervision, especially in concession operations.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Experience working non-traditional and flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
  • Basic understanding of inventory procedures and equipment handling.

Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour. This position typically works a 40-hour work week.
