An Audio/Visual and FX Technician is responsible for set up, operation, and maintenance of the technical systems and processes throughout the event.

Position Overview:  

  • Provide technical installation of event assets alongside Lead Technician and Memoir operations staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in technical processes, hardware, and software used in each event.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all on-site equipment, including audio, lighting, power, fog machines, snow machines, flame effects, lasers, fire pits, and more.
  • Be responsible for powering up and shutting down the event and all related elements alongside other technicians. 
  • Maintain and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, and special effects equipment throughout the event’s duration.
  • Ensure the safety and security of equipment and guests throughout the event.
  • Perform continuous quality control checks to uphold performance standards.
  • Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance, and any additional technical requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to meet Memoir's high-quality standards.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience as an Audio Visual Technician.
  • An understanding of audio, video, control, and networking systems. 
  • A basic understanding of artnet and DMX protocols in relation to stage lighting installations.
  • Must be able to read and understand plans to ensure everything is done correctly and then do any additional configuration that is required.
  • Must be responsive, efficient, have excellent customer interaction, and exhibit a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, under immense pressure. The pace requires independent and confident thinking, self-motivation and determination.
  • Good organization and time management skills with proven ability to address multiple priorities.
  • Proven team player with the ability to take direction from leadership.
  • Ability to to complete physically demanding tasks, such as standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold temperatures)

  • Staff provide their own attire. Black shirt, and black pants are required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have critical thinking and problem solving ability
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and hours of work, to meet the needs of the event

Dates: This is a temporary full-time position. This position requires select dates and times between 11/10/2025-01/16/2026. Further information to be provided during the interview process. 

Pay Details: Starting at $24/hr. Higher rates may be offered for potential staff with significant experience. Payments will be made weekly.
