Technical Show Producer
The Technical Show Producer is a key leadership role at Memoir Agency LLC (“Memoir”), responsible for leading technical production planning and execution across Memoir’s owned immersive events and select client service engagements.
This role owns technical production planning and coordination across assigned projects, connecting design, systems, vendors, site operations, and permitting workflows to ensure technical packages are delivered on time, on budget, and ready for crews and venues to execute confidently. From initial creative through install, run of show, and final reporting, this role is the through line for project success within the Tech and Site Department.

Core Responsibilities
Operational Execution
- Own and maintain integrated technical production schedules, ensuring milestones, installations, and on-site execution remain on time and aligned with overall production timelines.
- Lead the production of comprehensive production books and site plan packages, including activation documentation, maps, safety and hazard communications, access routes, infrastructure layouts, and integrated power plans.
- Identify technical risks early and develop contingency plans to protect show quality, timeline, and budget.
- Provide on-site technical leadership during load-in, rehearsals, run of show, and dismantle, ensuring alignment between design intent and field execution.
- Maintain organized archives of technical documentation, production books, infrastructure layouts, and permitting records for future seasonal reuse and refinement.
Resource Management, Infrastructure, and Department Growth
- Leads technical show budget management, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, control costs, and deliver high quality execution.
- Builds, and manages relationships with third party vendors across AV, staging, power, fabrication, etc. to support show delivery.
- Support department scalability by contributing to the documentation and refinement of technical best practices, SOPs, permitting workflows, and production standards.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of technical planning tools, scheduling systems, and vendor management processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Review vendor proposals, scopes of work, and contracts to ensure alignment with technical intent, approved budgets, and commercial objectives.
- Support thoughtful capital deployment decisions for owned shows, balancing creative ambition with long-term asset value and operational sustainability.
Team Leadership & Development
- Coordinates specialized technical staffing needs, including AV and other key positions, while managing contracted specialists as required for successful project execution.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning meetings between Creative, Tech, Site Operations, Client Services, and other stakeholders; document decisions, assign action items, and drive follow-through.
- Lead pre-production readiness meetings with on-site leadership to ensure technical preparedness ahead of installation and show opening, as well as post mortem meetings to review each project and inform future initiatives
- Participate in onboarding and training of technical team members and contracted specialists, both seasonal and long term, providing direct supervision and performance feedback as assigned.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Production, Site Operations, Warehouse, Finance, Marketing, Client Services, and Business Development as applicable.
- Coordinate infrastructure installs in partnership with internal teams and external venue stakeholders.
- Own internal permitting workflows, securing required approvals from Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and ensuring documentation deadlines are met.
- Ensure all technical operations comply with safety standards, venue regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Support Memoir’s strategic initiatives by ensuring technical planning is fully integrated into overall project delivery and long-term venue partnerships.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Approximately 7–10+ years of progressively responsible experience in technical production, production management, show operations, or field execution within live events, experiential marketing, themed entertainment, festivals, or large-scale installations.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing integrated production schedules across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of integrated technical systems, including power distribution, signal flow, infrastructure planning, and show control environments.
- Experience managing technical budgets, forecasting costs, and optimizing spend while maintaining execution quality.
- Proven vendor management experience, including reviewing scopes of work, proposals, and technical contracts.
- Working knowledge of permitting and AHJ approval processes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting recurring seasonal shows or multi-year venue partnerships.
- Experience in revenue-share or venue-based commercial environments.
- Advanced experience producing comprehensive production books and technical site plan packages.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising field teams or technical contractors.
- High proficiency with Google Workspace and project management tools used in live production environments.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
KPIs will be established annually in collaboration with department leadership and may be refined throughout the year to reflect evolving priorities. KPIs may include, but are not limited to:
- Timely and high-quality technical project delivery

Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time role with schedule flexibility based on business needs.
- Travel of up to approximately 35% may be required depending on project assignments.
- Evening, weekend, and extended on-site commitments are expected during installation, rehearsals, and operational periods.
- Work may occur in office, warehouse, venue, and outdoor site environments, including active construction or production settings.
